How it works
Simple setup in three steps
A 3/8" drill bit and ten minutes. Washers, wingnuts and an illustrated card come in every pack.
Cups fit SCH40 1/2" PVC. Keep the supply under 3 PSI — gravity fed, or through a pressure-reducing or float valve.

Drill the hole
Use a 3/8" bit near the base of the bucket, leaving room for grit to settle below the cup.

Screw in the cup
Put the rubber washer on the cup and screw it into the hole — the washer stays on the outside.

Tighten the wingnut
Reach inside the container and hand-tighten the wingnut onto the thread. No tools needed.

Cement the tees in
Cut 1/2" PVC to length and use PVC cement to secure the pipe into each tee. Let it dry.

Screw the cup on
Washer onto the cup thread, then screw the cup snug onto the tee. Do not over-tighten.

Connect the water
Feed the line from a low-pressure source — never straight off the household mains.

What water pressure do the cups require?
The cups are designed for low-pressure, gravity-fed systems below 3 PSI. If connecting to a higher-pressure water supply, use a suitable pressure regulator or float valve.
What height should I drill the holes in my container?
If your container is raised on a stand, the holes can be drilled around 1" from the bottom. If it sits directly on the ground, position the holes at least 3" up to leave enough clearance for the cups.
What size drill bit do I need?
Use a 3/8" drill bit for direct installation into a suitable container.
Do they leak?
They shouldn’t when installed correctly. If you notice a drip, check that the washer is sitting flat, the wing nut is snug and your water pressure is below 3 PSI.
What if a cup stops refilling?
First check that water is reaching the cup and that the cup can tilt freely. If the flow is restricted, check the valve opening for dirt or debris and rinse it clean.
Are replacement parts available?
Yes. Replacement floats and washers are available separately, so a worn or damaged part doesn’t mean replacing the whole cup. Spare washers and wing nuts are also included with each pack.
Are they suitable for chicks and ducklings?
Yes. If chicks or ducklings are tall enough to comfortably reach the cups, they can usually drink from them. For very young birds, position the cups lower or use an age-appropriate waterer until they can reach them easily.
