Will they fit my nest boxes?
Each pad is 12" × 12", which suits most home-built and shop-bought boxes. If yours are smaller or an awkward shape, cut the pad down with a pair of scissors — measure the base of the box, mark the pad and trim.
Do hens actually use them?
Ours settle onto them without any fuss. If your hens are used to a deep layer of shavings, leave a handful on top of the pad for the first few days and they will take to it.
How do I clean them?
Lift the pad out, tip off the loose bits, hose it down and wipe it over — then let it dry before it goes back in. Keeping a spare pad per box means a clean one goes straight back while the other dries.
Do I still need bedding?
Most keepers run the pad on its own. Some add a handful of shavings on top because their hens prefer it — either works, and either way there is far less to shovel out.
How many pads do I need?
One per nest box, plus a spare or two so you always have a clean pad ready. That is why they come in fours, sixes and eights.
Is there any difference between the colours?
No — gray, green and straw are the same pad. Pick whichever suits your coop.
